Our Casting Philosophy
At Ovation Productions, we believe exceptional theatre begins with talented artists, thoughtful collaboration, and a shared commitment to storytelling. We strive to create a professional audition process that reflects the care and artistic standards we bring to every production.
We welcome submissions from artists of diverse backgrounds and experiences. As each production has unique artistic requirements, casting decisions are made based on the needs of the production and the vision of the creative team.
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
GENERAL AUDITIONS
Ovation Productions is seeking artists for roles in multiple projects in our upcoming season.
We welcome submissions from both union and non-union artists.
IN-PERSON AUDITIONS
September 30 and October 1, 2026
Ottawa, Ontario
Auditions are by appointment only.
Self-tape auditions will be considered for artists who are unable to attend in person. If you would like to audition by self-tape, please indicate this in your submission.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Artists selected to audition will be asked to prepare:
Two contrasting songs - 32-bar cut of each.
Songs should showcase voice, range, characterization, and personality. One selection should be from a contemporary musical, and the other should be a rock/pop-rock song.
One contemporary monologue.
The monologue should be off-book, no more than one minute in length, and from a published play.

In your email, indicate whether you are available to attend an in-person audition or would like to request a self-tape audition.
